The value of planning came in handy when I entered the automotive industry, and realized that I could determine my paycheck based on how I chose to spend my time and prepare for each day. As a salesperson I came to work early each day, and set clear goals for myself. I also learned that having a positive attitude would be a very important tool. Armed with my positive attitude and daily agendas, I earned the Salesperson of the Year award my very first year in the business! This was achieved while competing against several “veterans.” My success as a salesperson was so consistent, that I was offered a management position. I climbed the ladder and worked in several management positions with Honda and Toyota dealerships.
Although I had been very successful in my positions, there was something in my professional career that was unfulfilled. In 2003 I met a sales trainer that invited me to work for a training company where I could help others find success in a sales career. This was just what I needed; an opportunity to share my passion for success! I began working with the training company and immediately put my positive attitude and perseverance to work. I quickly realized I had found that missing link in my career. I fell in love with motivating others, teaching them the power of a positive attitude, and showing them the importance of being prepared and setting goals. The material I was presenting in my training seminars became a hot commodity, and I was constantly in demand.
